The first game went somewhat as expected, both teams had their jitters and it came down to who was going to shake it off first. Peru went into halftime with a 6 point lead, and that certainly was not to their satisfaction. The Tigers held Southwood to only 2 field goals in the 3rd quarter and opened up a 22 point lead going into the 4th. During the final period, Peru certainly didn’t let up. They closed out the game pushing their lead into the 30’s and finally winning 68-37. Wes Zimmerman led the Tiger attack with 19 points. Peru will be back in action Saturday 12-29 at Tig-arena when they host Logansport. Last year the Tigers edged out Logan by 5 at the Berry Bowl. All pictures courtesy of the Peru Tribune.
