Peru rips Eastern in the third quarter for a 68-44 win.  The Tigers held an eight point advantage heading to the halftime break.  What occurred in the third quarter was the difference.  Peru outscored the Comets 21 to eight in the stanza to put the game away.

Peru dominated defensively the interior by shutting down Steve Boomershine and Joby Renbarger offensively.  Peru continued the dominance by out rebounding Eastern to the tune of 32-19 count.

Peru’s offense was once again hitting on all cylinders.  The Tigers put three players in double figures.  The fifth different player to lead the Tigers was Justin Engel with 14 points.  Running mate Taylor Smith added 13 points while Wes Zimmerman tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Eastern did not put a single player in the double figures.  Blake Dodson came off the bench to lead the Comets with eight points.  Jonathan Keith and Wes Horner added seven points apiece.

Eastern followed the loss with a solid win on Saturday night.  The Comets improved to 4-3 overall and their conference record is 0-2.  Eastern will be off until January 9th when they travel to Maconaquah.
